ACLAN and USMNT star Christian Pulisic recently opened up about his personal goals at the San Siro, saying he believes he is at or near his prime, recent injury setbacks and the pressure of representing a top club at the highest level: “We care a lot.”
Pulisic: Milan goals, overcome injury to enter his prime
The Rossoneri forward gave an in-depth interview with Kate Scott to CBS Sports in which he spoke about his previous seasons with Milan and the US national team.
Pulisic has been in great form since the start of the 2025-26 season, scoring four goals and providing two assists in the first five Serie A games of the season. He has not scored in the league since then, and currently only Hakan Calhanoglu and Riccardo Orsolini are above him in the Serie A top scorer rankings.
Pulisic ended up missing just under a month of games due to his latest injury, but insists he is grateful that his layoff was only for a few weeks and nothing more serious.
“As a footballer, it’s the worst when you get injured at the weekend and can’t play, but now I’m fully back in the team and I feel much better,” Pulisic said.

“Things were going really well at the beginning of the season, and it seems like that’s the way it’s going to be. Honestly, I believe in God’s timing and I believe it’s what’s best for me. To be honest, it’s not the worst thing that’s ever happened. I was out for a few weeks, but now I’m back. I’m lucky it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be.”
Pulisic was asked if, at 27 years old, he is at the peak of his career.
He replied, “I can definitely say that I’m at a good age in my career. Physically I feel like I’m in the best shape and I feel like I’ve learned a lot. I’m in a really good place.”
“I always want to say that I hope next year is my best, because that’s always my goal. If this is my best, I want to enjoy it, but there’s always room to be better. I definitely feel like I’m playing my best football at the moment.”

Pulisic was asked if Milan will aim to win the Serie A title and if they fail to do so, it would be classed as a huge disappointment.
“That’s definitely our goal. I don’t want to look at it like, ‘What if we don’t win?’ We’re going to do our best and I think we’ll be judged by our performance, how we’re doing game by game and how we go through the season,” he answered.
“I’m not ashamed of it because there were times when I didn’t win anything and I feel like I’ve done a lot of great things, but absolutely nothing is better than when you get a win.”
Regarding his personal goals for the season, Pulisic said: “Maybe it’s a private thing for me, so I never want to reveal my exact personal goals.

“There’s no need for that. We have enough pressure and we don’t need more pressure. People don’t realize the pressure we put on ourselves. I demand so much from myself, and I think all the top pros do that.”
“(Supporters) don’t think that’s what we think.” please don’t But they probably think we don’t care as much as they do, and that’s not true, we care a lot.
“I set goals for myself, but it’s not necessarily ‘I want to score this many goals’. It’s just how I impact the team in a certain way. That’s my mindset.”
