Inter Milan’s president Beppe Marotta says he hopes that director Simone Inzagi’s birthday present will be a great end to the season.
Marotta spoke with Italian broadcaster Dazn via fcinternews ahead of today’s Serie’s match against Parma.
Inter Milan coach Simone Inzagi turns 49 today.
A bit ironic, personally, it’s a bit sour day for Nerazzurri’s coach. He received a red card during a match against Udinese last weekend and is banned from touchline.
So Inzagi is in the stands, but his assistant Massimiliano Faris will be in charge of the team against Parma today.
Nevertheless, seeing his team score three points will be an opportunity for Inzagi to celebrate his birthday.
President Marotta: “I want to present Inzagi with a great end to the season.”
However, it’s not easy for Inter to win after tonight.
And in the meantime, Nerazzurri has many other matches to consider. It starts with the first leg against Bayern Munich from this week’s Champions League quarterfinals.
Inzagi knows that his team has won multiple trophies, including the Serie A title and the Champions League.
So, a gift for Intercoach can be really special.
President Beppe Marotta said, “We’re already celebrating with him and the team.”
“Our gift for him is certainly about to have a big end to the season,” he added.
“Beyond that, I think his only focus will be on this match,” Marotta revealed.
Meanwhile, Marotta made it clear that it doesn’t make much difference whether he’s a rival to Napoli, a rival to Serie A-title rival.
“We’ve gotten used to it by now,” he said. “Maybe when you play before, it gives you a little more mental freedom.”
“Because the teams that play afterwards have to chase.”
“But if the expert is trained for it, he has to live with these specific dynamics,” Marotta said.
“That’s why we don’t have a preference.”
“But we have to deal with the fact that we have eight more matches in the league, Coppa Italia and Bayern Munich in the Champions League,” President Inter said.
“The biggest challenge is playing all these competitions in a short period of time.”

And Marotta updated about the fitness of Captain Lautaro Martinez. Argentina will begin their match tonight.

Marotta welcomed Martinez. “He’s our captain and every season he takes on an increasingly winning mentality.”
