Bologna’s winger Dan Ndoy explained why the tactical changes led to eight times the goals from 2024-25 to 2024 compared to former Rossobre and former Joventus head coach Tiago Motta.
Ndoye, Italiano and Bologna enjoy a great season with Serie A, both personally and collectively.
Ndoye has been a key part of Italiano’s offensive lineup this season, contributing to eight goals and three assists so far. While Motta was in charge, he only scored one league goal overall 2023-24.
Swiss International also scored a great improvisation goal in a team’s 1-1 draw with Napoli on Monday night.
“My goal against Napoli is the best of my career. I instinctively saw the ball come back a little. I tried to hit it with my heels.

ndoye explains why he scores more goals under Italiano than Motta
He explained how Italiano makes the most of him this season.
“I’ve been scoring for a Vincenzo Italiano game this season, and he knows how to talk to us.

“We all have the same mentality regardless of who plays more and who is less. We all want the best for the club and we all enjoy playing together.
Ndoye then explained why he’s got so much better in relation to his goal contribution this season compared to his last.
“Last season, we played a slightly different game at Thiago Motta. The US Wingers had to stay very widely on the touchline almost to create space for defenders and midfielders to build the game.
“Obviously, far from the goal, I have fewer chances to score. Instead, I’m more free to head to the net, which is why my statistics have improved.
