Samuere Rich, who signed New Milan, admits that he “didn’t hesitate” when Rossonelli made the offer, and says that he must “like a sponge” when training with Luka Modric.
Rich was announced as the new Milan player at a press conference on Wednesday.
Italian International joined Rossoneri in a 25 million euro deal from Turin.

“It’s the best moment of my career. Torino gave me so much. I posted to thank them,” Rich said on TMW.
“Now I have made an important choice and took a big step. I’m in Milan. It’s a club with a great history and global fame. I’m here to repay the trust that the entire club has placed on me. I’ll do my best to do that.”
How did you approach your new Milan coach, Masimiliano Allegri?
“It was very positive. Obviously, he’s a great coach,” admitted Rich.
“One of the most successful. The good thing is that he’s always cheerful like our Taskers and always ready to be joked and joking. We’re doing really well.”
Did they talk about his role in Milan XI?
“We haven’t had a detailed discussion, but personally, the position I feel most comfortable with is having a midfielder in the three of them. If the coach asks me to do a fullback, I’ll do that,” replied Rich.
“I spoke with Matteo Gavia and he explained everything about the dressing room. He spoke very high about it. As soon as I arrived, I felt part of a large family.
“Everyone who knows me knows I didn’t hesitate for a moment to choose Milan. I’ll try to pay back the trust that is shown to me, on and off the pitch.”
Rich was excited to meet Leo in Milan.
Rich has named a player who is looking forward to seeing him in Milan.
“Perhaps Leo. You think he’s against him and it’s clear he has something extra,” the Italian said.
“When you meet him, you realize that the rumors about him are not true. He’s very calm and he’s a really nice person.”
Milan sent Tijani Reyjunders to Manchester City, but after the Club World Cup, Luka Modrik is welcomed.
“If someone told me a few years ago, I would have said, ‘I can’t do it.’ I train with one of the world’s top midfielders,” Rich said.
“It’s essential to learn a lot from him on and off the pitch. I need to be like a sponge and absorb everything I can help my career from him and other teammates.
“Tijani and I are different players. He had a great season and he is considered one of the best midfielders in the world. I don’t like comparisons,” Rich continued.
“I may not score 10 goals, but I’m here to contribute to the team.”
Rich has made 10 appearances for the Italian national team and was one of the 35 players called by New Azuri boss Gennaro Gatuso in June.
“I think Milan is fundamental to my career at Azzuri, and it’s a great place to improve and grow,” Rich said.
“I know the challenges ahead. When you train with top players, the competition gets stronger. It’s part of a soccer career. I’ve already spoke briefly with coach Gennaro Gattuso on the phone. That meant a lot for me. He really didn’t talk about Milan.
Finally, Rich confirmed that Milan’s main goal is to compete in the Champions League in the 2025-26 season.
“The main goal is to go back to Europe. Beyond that, we need to take it one day at a time. That’s what the coach told us. Then, at the end of the season, we’ll see.”
