Juan Sebastian Veron sees Inter Milan as his favorite ahead of Saturday’s showdown against Derby doItalia’s bitter rival Juventus.

In an extensive interview with Gazetta delo Sports via FCINTER1908, Veron provided predictions for the upcoming Serie A Classic.

Fresh from a two-week break in club football, Inter Milan is aiming to return to Serie A action along with vengeance.

Certainly, after thrashing Torino 5-0 over the opening weekend, Nerazzuri led Udinese to a 2-1 defeat.

Therefore, new boss Christian Chib is desperate to score three points in Turin as he aims to stabilize the ship.

However, the task is nothing but formidable. Juventus is bidding to maintain a perfect start.

Unlike Inter, Igor Tudor’s accusations won both league games before an international break without admitting.

Additionally, the Turin giants have only lost one home match with Inter in Serie A since the beginning of 2014.

Despite Juventus’ strong start and a favorable home record against Inter, Veron gives Nerazzuri his favorite tag.

Asked to explain the emotions surrounding this iconic fixture, Veron states:

“You prepare for it, imagine it, you dream about it. With that in mind, to win it.

“You have to imagine a collection of novels, stories where everyone can write their own history.

“It happened to me, and I am very proud of it.

“But what I liked most was the adrenaline of the event. Juventus has always been an honor and a strong club.

“Even when I saw Serie A on Argentine TV, Napoli in Maradona was fighting to beat them.

“But in general, I believe that any player will burn more than usual when they get into such a big game.

“The motivation rises – it’s normal. It happens to our players and your journalists too, right?”

He then assisted Inter to claim three points.

“It’s hard to predict, but despite the doubts I’m hearing, I think I’m a favorite of Inter,” Veron said.

Despite Inter’s barren run in Turin, the former Argentine midfielder gives them the benefit of doubt.

“The team has a well-tested structure, they have important results, and for me it seems to be in front of Juventus.

“Wait and let’s take a look.”

Lautaro Martinez & Javier Zanetti

Lautaro Martinez is still on an international mission with Argentina.

Additionally, El Toro will not return to Italy by Friday, raising concerns that he may be lacking in energy.

“I don’t know Chivu, so I can’t judge his job from afar. Certainly, Coaching Inter is not easy for anyone.

“The issues with the bench experience count to a certain point, and what really matters is qualities and personality.

“Christian, like all coaches, is evaluated based on results.

“When it comes to Lautaro, he can always produce something, even if not 100%. And Karhanogul remains a great midfielder.”

However, Veron admits that he has not been in touch with Inter-Milan Vice President Javier Zanetti.

“I don’t talk to him much, so I don’t know what’s going on inside.

“But teams like Inter have to always believe that they can win, and that doesn’t always happen.

“For example, last season, we finished without a trophy despite getting closer in Serie A and the Champions League, but ambition is essential.

“After losing two finals, I think the real target is always the Champions League.

“But that’s difficult because Europe has so many obstacles to overcome.”

Finally, Veron told Inter to pay attention to Mikel Amondarain.

“There are a lot of young people in our league, but maybe before going to Inter, they should take an intermediate step in Europe to avoid a big leap.

“In my team, I would like to point out Mikel Amondaran, a very talented child that is emerging now.

“He’s a box-to-box midfielder with excellent prospects. But he’s 20 years old. Let’s give him time.”
