Giovanni Carnevali will officially begin his journey as Juventus’ new CEO on Monday and will immediately hold a meeting with the club’s finance team to establish the club’s budget and potential summer transfers, according to reports in Italy.
What are Carnevali’s plans for his first day at Juventus?
Carnevali has been Sassuolo’s CEO for the past 12 years, but moved to Turin following the recent departure of Damian Comolli. left the top position in the Juventus hierarchy One year after taking charge.
It is understood that Carnevali will officially start his new job today and will immediately hold a series of meetings to fully understand the club’s finances.
According to tutto sportOne of Carnevalli’s immediate priorities will be to fully understand the club’s settlement agreement with UEFA, which will determine exactly how much money Juventus can spend and, more importantly, how much they should earn from this summer’s transfer fee.
Juventus are expected to need to sell players in order to comply with UEFA’s financial regulations and to offset the expected drop in income from not qualifying for the Champions League in 2026-27.

Some have suggested that Juventus may need to let go of big-time first-team stars, such as defender Grayson Bremer, who has a €58 million release clause in his contract, to solve their budget. However, Tuttosport insist that Carnevalli is determined to consider all possible solutions and there is still a possibility of keeping the Brazilian.
Reports on Sunday also suggest that Carnevalli could try to restart negotiations with striker Dusan Vlahovic over a possible new contract at the request of manager Luciano Spalletti.
It is thought that continuing to sign the Serbian player could make life easier from a financial point of view, especially if the club can avoid going on the market to sign one, or perhaps two, new centre-forwards this summer.

From there, Juventus will continue to consider future transfer possibilities. Negotiations have already been concluded with Atlético’s Alexander Sorloth and Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, with updates on both parties expected to be announced in due course.
