After learning about the transfer embargo, Maurizio Sally felt “deceived” by President Claudio Rotito, but admitted that he would not return to his “promise” to return to Lazio. “I was mad for an hour.”

The coach left in March 2024 and spent time dealing with family issues, but was ready for a comeback and decided to pick up where he left off at Studio Olipico.

It was only after signing the contract that the club realized that it was the three financial stress tests that they had failed, so even free agents will not be allowed to sign new players this summer.

What did he think when he first talked about the news?

“I thought the president had fooled me,” Sally said with a wink and laugh at today’s press conference, with Lotito in attendance.

“I had already decided to come back, so leaving due to these difficulties seemed unfair to the club and its fans. I was mad at an hour and had to put everything on one side.

“It was a prolific summer in terms of discussion, but we chose Lazio because of its relationship with the environment, including the kit staff.”

Lazio faces fresh difficulties with Sari

Sarri is determined not to use the transfer embargo as a low target, especially as he is not qualified for the UEFA tournament and has more time to train his subordinates than ever before.

“I can use Alivis on young people from day one, or use these issues as special motivations. We have to make improvements. Lazio finished 7th for the second year in a row and cannot improve in the market.

There was a march on the streets to protest President Lotito’s tenure, but figures released today confirm that Lazio’s season ticket sales have risen.

“I said that Lazio’s spirit would invade you, this is evidence once more. The fans get mad, but they’re still there. This is one of the reasons why I’m back here,” added Sari.

Looking back at his decision, would the coach accept his return to Lazio if he knew he could not sign a new player?

“Life is made up of choices. You never know how other decisions will affect them. In that sense, I try not to reflect or reflect on what I didn’t. At that point, my only choice was whether to stay or not, and I felt that we were able to face these challenges.”

At the same time, Sally warns that he cannot promise any major ambitions for this Lazio team.

“My only responsibility is to give all my energy to these people. I can’t guarantee results, I can’t buy players worth 100 million euros. I can just guarantee professionalism and I can put my soul in. Fans can criticize them if necessary, but they need 100% behind during the game.”
