CESC Fabregas claims that Como “can call me the loser after such a loss and a dramatic defeat to Milan,” but is critical of the red card Dereary. “That was a serious mistake.”

Lariani dominated the first half at San Siro and led 1-0 thanks to a well-worked goal from Lucas da Cunha.

“Only the first half? Maybe we saw another game. It was two magical moments from players worth more than 60 million euros and we wore the Milan jersey,” Fabregas told Dazen.

“We were in front of Sansilo’s 70,000 people and played an incredible game. I’ve had a lot of wins in my career, you can call me a loser today, but I’m going to lose like this. I enjoy it because I see a lot of young players coming here and playing this kind of football.

“It’s hard to explain because it’s been happening this season so people probably say my mentality is losing, but when I work hard all week and see the young people play like this, it’s just a joy.

“There are a few areas that need to be improved, and it’s the process, but we saw great performance.”

Fabregas Rage at Como Misfortune

The difference in the second half was that Como had reduced the level of quality and accuracy, while Milan gained confidence.

“We can’t come here on the Milan side and struggle and expect them to wait for them to push harder.”

Seeing the semi-automatic offside technology, Como was furious as Da Cunha admitted a 2-0 goal 2-0 and his shoulder was slightly offside.

“Our bad luck this season is incredible. Today, in my view, it’s not just offside. If the camera was stopped when the ball was played, if that millimeter was gone, there was no real difference in the goal,” Fabregas was furious.

“Nevertheless, I’m still positive. I’m celebrating Milan. It’s a world-class club with great players.”

Dele Alli was not expected to make his debut tonight, his first competitive match since February 2023, but only lasted 10 minutes before being sent to stamp the back of Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s ankle.

“At that moment, Milan was 2-1 and Sergi Roberto was going to come, and I hope he will train him for another two weeks as he is ready to oppose Empori,” explained Fabregas.

“Dele Alli is a player who can score goals. He probably didn’t deserve this opportunity, so we’ve only been working with him for two weeks and there’s a lot to improve.

“It’s a serious mistake and something that should not be seen by players in his experience. It was a clear red card, nothing was said about it, he left the team to 10 people at the key moment when we were pushing 2-2.

“That’s the most negative thing tonight, but we’re continuing.”
