Italian legend Christian Vieri is confident that two attempts in a row are “worst than being dumped by a girlfriend,” and qualifies for the 2026 World Cup.
Former Serie A and Italian Starvieri struggled to find something very rare when Bobo was a football player and spoke to the Italian soccer podcast about the state of Italian football.
“I don’t know what happened. When I was on the national team, we were Inzagi, Del Piero, Baguio, Monterra, Totti, Casilagi, Zora, Viari, Lavanelli, Mancini.
“I was talking to Pippo Inzagi last week and he told me, “Bobo, for 35 years, we’ve had the best striker in the world.
But Kean and Retegui are “very good strikers.”
Nevertheless, Mateo Retegui and Moise Keene were the best scorers in Serie A in 204-25, and Bieri speaks very high about the pair.
“But we have Keene and Retschui. They’re two very good strikers,” the former striker said.
“If they play together, they’re extremely dangerous. Keene is an incredible striker and an incredible center ahead.

Italy has not started their World Cup qualifying journey on the right path after losing 3-0 in Norway. Coach Luciano Spalletti was fired after the match, but he took charge of the final match against Moldova, securing a 2-0 victory.
Vieri is confident that Italy is still eligible for the World Cup despite the Italian issues and the fact that they still have no coaches.
“Yes, I told my wife last week: “We’re going to America for a month to go to watch the World Cup,” she said: “Are we looking at Italy or any other team?” And I replied: “We’re looking at Azzuri.”
“When I walk around during the World Cup and see the yellow shirt, I know it’s Brazil,” Vieri continued.
“If you look at the white shirt, you know it’s Germany. If you look at the blue shirt, you know it’s Italy.
“Italy has to be in the World Cup all the time. Always. Good teams, bad teams, anything. We have to be in the World Cup. We have to be in the World Cup. We are a country born to win the World Cup.
“I haven’t qualified twice yet, so my heart is broken. It’s worse than being dumped by my girlfriend.”
Vieri scored 142 with 264 Serie A Matches and added 23 goals in 49 international matches against Azzurri.
