Juventus fired coach Thiago Motta just 284 days after being appointed from the Coppa Italia and the Champions League outside the Bianconeri and Champions League.
Motta had signed a three-year contract at Allianz Stadium in June 2024, but his spell at Juventus lasted for just nine months.

The latter defeated Motta’s Juventus in his first match in charge of Rossoneri in January, and a poorer New Year’s result led to Motta’s firing several months later.
Motta left Juventus and sat in fifth place at the Serie A table. One point below Motta’s former club, fourth-placed Bologna.
Bianconeri scored 52 points after 29 rounds. This is the lowest of the last 14 campaigns. Bianconoli also led to the heaviest home defeat in Motta’s final match at Allianz Stadium since 1967, losing 4-0 to Atalanta earlier this month.
Juventus was eliminated from Coppa Italia at the hands of fighter Emporio. Tuscan is currently in the relegation zone of Serie A and has not won a single-league match since its launch in 2025.
Motta’s Juventus admitted seven goals in the last two Serie A matches and did not score. Following a 4-0 defeat against Atalanta, a further 3-0 defeat at Fiorentina, after which manager Cristiano Juntori confirmed his trust in Motta.
“In these moments, we must continue to unite and emerge from difficulties together,” Juntori told Sky Sports Italia after his defeat against Fiorentina.
“We were clearly disappointed and the season had its ups and downs, but we didn’t continue with the two games side by side.
Motta said goodbye to Juventus in a short statement Monday.
“I have had intense moments, always facing me with my greatest determination and a desire to improve my everyday life,” the former Juventus coach said.
“I am grateful for this great club, the management team and the ownership that gave me the opportunity to participate in all the people in the club that supported me in my daily work.
“We would like to thank the players for their efforts and commitment from day one. We hope that fans and Juventus are the best for the future.”
New Juventus coach Igor Tudor will make his debut on the Bianconeri bench this Saturday with the Serie A Giants hosting Genoa at Allianz Stadium.
