Juventus suffered their first Champions League defeat of the season as Real Madrid broke through with a goal from Jude Bellingham.
The Bianconeri are in crisis after a five-game stalemate, losing 2-0 in all competitions to Como, and it has been reported that manager Igor Tudor is on the verge of being sacked. Although Grayson Bremer, Edon Dzieglova and Juan Cabal were absent, Weston McKennie strengthened the midfield and returned to a three-man defense with Kenan Yildiz wearing the captain’s armband. The hosts were without Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dani Ceballos, Antonio Rudiger, David Alaba and former Juventus defender Dean Huyssen, with suspended Dani Carvajal and Ferland Mendy also on the bench.

Pierre Carles’ cartwheel provoked Marco Asensio’s panicked defense, and Thibaut Courtois hit McKennie’s snap shot against the post before coming down and suffocating Federico Gatti’s daisy cutter.
Real Madrid did not threaten until the 16th minute when Aurélien Chauameni headed straight at Michele Di Gregorio, then Brahim Díaz’s angled drive was denied by the goalkeeper with a tricky save. The resulting corner saw Choameni’s shot go wide.
It might have been better for Brahim Dias to head home at the back post, but Di Gregorio burst from his line and blocked Kylian Mbappé’s Brahim Dias assist with his face at the near post.
Mbappé dribbled past two points and fell back, allowing Eder Militão to burst in from the edge of the area, but after the restart, a mistake from Alvaro Carreras denied Carlulu’s shot.
Blachowicz sprinted to long balls to keep Eder Militao at bay, forcing Courtois to put his body on the line in one-on-one situations and make very difficult saves.
Real Madrid broke the deadlock when Vinicius twisted and turned into the crowd to take a diagonal drive. His finish hit the base of the far post, and Bellingham was quickest to react on the 6-yard rebound.

A few minutes later, Brahim Dias caught the ankle in a high tackle on Kefren Thuram, risking more than just a yellow card.
Di Gregorio had to make a sensational double save in the follow-up from Mbappe and Brahim Dias, but was brought down by the former Milan man moments later, only to be saved by Gatti’s goal-line clearance.
Francisco Conceição was expected to be the hero with a decisive tackle as Vinicius cleared, but Juventus could have equalized when Jonathan David played a through ball to Reus Openda and with an extra touch allowed a desperate block from Raul Asensio.
Filip Kostic also tried Courtois deep in the stoppage, but Juve stood up empty-handed.
