Nerazzurri President Beppe Marotta avoided punishment in the investigation of Inter Milan Ultras Group The Curva Nord.

Today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport details Marotta, via FCINTERNEWS, was always going through the appropriate channels to inform Italian FA of contacts with Ultras leaders.

Over the past few months, Ultras Inter Group The Curva Nord has been under investigation.

The investigation concerns alleged criminal conduct and mafia bonds. At the same time, there was also a survey of AC Milan Ultras Group The Curva Sud.

As part of the investigation, prosecutors are questioning many notable figures at both Inter and AC Milan.

Additionally, there were some notable sanctions as part of the investigation.

Most importantly, intercoach Simone Inzagi and midfielder Hakan Karhanoglu both received one match suspension.

These pauses correspond to the contacts Inzagi and Karhanogul had with the leaders of Curva Nord. Additionally, Inzaghi will be fined 15,000 euros and Calhanoglu will be 15,000 euros.

The duo will be banned in tonight’s Serie A match.

However, Gazzetta is not the only ones facing sanctions, Inzagi and Karhanoguru.

Vice President Javier Zanetti has also received a fine of 14,500 euros. But he has not been suspended.

Meanwhile, Nerazzurri security manager Claudio Sala received a fine of 14,500 euros and a 30-match ban.

But one very notable figure at Inter Milan who avoided punishment was President Beppe Marotta.

Marotta testified as part of Inter’s Ultra investigation. And the president of Nerazzurri openly admitted to meeting Ultras leaders in 2022 while being CEO of the club.

However, Marotta also confirmed that he had passed through the proper channel. President Intel had notified Italian FA and Digos investigators that they would hold a meeting.

Therefore, Gazzetta’s report, the prosecutor, has not fined Marotta for his conduct.

Meanwhile, as part of the investigation, there will be a fine of 70,000 euros across Inter Milan.

Inter Milan is not known to have an Ultra financially supported on its final ticket for the 2023 Champions League

Furthermore, Gazzetta’s report does not find Inter Milan providing financial aid to the club’s Ultra to purchase tickets for the 2023 Champions League final.

Nerazzurri “promoted access” to Curva Nord to buy tickets for that match, a clash with Istanbul’s Manchester City.

However, prosecutors found there was no “direct or indirect” financial support.

Rather, the Curva Nord members who purchased tickets for that final did so at the same price as other fans (70 euros) via the UEFA website.
