Lazio scored a key three points tonight, beating Genoa 3-0, helping young Matteo Cancellieri lead Bianco Celesti to victory.
The hosts were dominating the game’s massive Swas, but were unable to turn their dominance into goal, facing a resilient, robust Lazio set at 4-2-3-1 due to the ongoing injury crisis.

Genoa 0-3 Lazio – Hosting missed opportunities
Lazio started the game hard, applied early pressure, and their efforts paid off when Tayy Castellanos fined the fine. It was a compiled finishing touch by the young Italian who made his mark early in the game.
Genoa returned to the game after the Lazio opener, with stadium fans boosting the Rossobre to the actual 12th man. Head coach Patrick Vieira looked from the stands and his side had some half chances to level the game 30 minutes ago.
However, their optimism took an even greater blow, as Vieira’s side appears to be growing into the game. Genoa pushed the goal towards the end of the first half, with both Michael Egil Elertson and Lorenzo Colombo denied by strong saves by Lazio Keeper Pouvedel. The Halftime Whistle came at a good time for visitors after weathering the storm in the first 45 closures.
Lazio beat Genoa in the second half
The hosts began the second half as they did at the beginning, putting pressure on Lazio’s defense and putting some early efforts into the goal.
Genoa was awarded a penalty around the time after Alessio Romagnoli was deemed to have contacted the box with a ball with his arm. However, after the VAR review, the decision was reversed.
With 25 minutes left, Lazio extended the lead to three goals. A goal mouth scramble occurred as a free kick was whipped into the box by Luca Pellegrini, and Mattia Zacchani appeared on the post to tap the ball.
The hosts struggled to find a foothold after Lazio’s third, and it seemed that they had taken away their confidence as Clinical Bianco Celesti took advantage of Genoa’s unstable defense.
Cancellieri had a great chance to secure a brace in 20 minutes, but fired in an effort he really should have done better.
