Marcus Thurham paid tribute to “brother” Keflen after scoring twice in a 5-0 victory in Turin, but Alessandro Bastoni insisted he wasn’t “failed” last season.
Nerazzurri couldn’t begin the season with a more mandatory performance, hitting Turin 5-0 for San Siro.
Sam also bagged braces with Alessandro Bastoni, Lautaro Martinez and debutant Angi Yoan Bonnie.

“This victory means we started the season well and kept a clean seat. We’re not 100% yet, but we’re working on it and this is a good start,” Thuram told Sky Sport Italia.
“What happened last season is in the past. It’s a new campaign and I learned from that experience.”

Bastoni also joked in a post-match interview, standing next to the man in the match.
“I’m happy with Marcus, who chose to leave for the last six months of last season, but I’m happy he’s back,” Bastoni joked.
“We all wanted to come back and prove to ourselves that despite the difficult end of the season, we were still hungry and wanted to show what we could.”
Inter ended the campaign empty-handed, but Bastoni asserts that getting closer to two big trophies won’t make a mistake.
“It’s true that we didn’t win silverware as we reached the Champions League final and finished one point from the winner of Scudetto, but we wouldn’t call it a failed campaign.
“The team is here. The new arrivals have given us a lot of fire. We are delighted that we have started the season well.”
