Beppe Marotta feels that it’s natural that Inter Milan is the Italian champion, so they have a target on their backs.
Nerazzurri’s president spoke to Dazn via Fcinternews ahead of today’s Derby D’Italia clash and Juventus clash. He spoke about the “culture of jealousy” in Italian football.
Over the past few weeks, Intel has been at the heart of a media fire.
This is more about the judge’s decision than anything else.
Intercoach Simone Inzagi collided with recognized double standards after scrutiny of a particular decision in her victory over Serie a Fiorentina last Monday.
But that seems to be deeper than that. Over the past few weeks, there have been many judge flashpoints in which Inter is involved.
The judges aren’t the only question. Intel is feeling increasingly pressured, hoping they will be their favorites to hold the Serie A title.
That’s probably what you’d expect. Not only did Inter win the title last season, but did so with a margin of nearly 20 points. And they held last season’s team together.
Beppe Marotta: “Italian Inter Milan Champion, so everyone wants to beat us.”
President Beppe Marotta said he agreed with Nerazzuri captain Lautaro Martinez, who said today’s clash with Juventus was “significant but inconclusive.”
“The performance we put in, beyond the scoreline, is an important sign,” he said.
“If that’s good, I hope we can crown it with victory. But in my opinion, this is still a middle stage of the season.”
“People often say that head-to-head matches are decisive for Scudetto,” President Inter said.
“But slip-ups can also happen to the team back to the table and back. We have to be careful to avoid these pitfalls.”
“It’s Derby da Italia,” he added. “We’re ready to face it.”
President Marotta acknowledged that “when you’re at a big club, the pressure increases.”
“And then there’s a culture of je in Italy,” he continued.
“We know we are Italian champions, so everyone is trying to beat us.”
“We must be stronger than all of these things,” Marotta emphasized rising above pressure and controversy.
“Inzagi is great in that. And he has more adrenaline than me, but I think it’s part of how we all are growing.”
“We have the realization that we’re fighting to go all the way in every competition we’re participating in.”
President Beppe Marotta of Inter Milan – spent eight years at Juventus
Finally, Marotta looked back at his time at today’s opponent, Bianconeri. “I spent eight years at Juventus,” he said.
“I’ve had a lot of success.
“The experience helped me arrive here in Milan and influence my ideas.”
“I’m so happy to be here right now,” Marotta said.
“We got great results. I think all of my past experiences have helped me grow and become smarter.”
“It’s the wisdom that I carry with me from past experiences with other teams. Everything from my past creates experiences, and then wisdom comes from it.”
