According to reports in Germany, Milan offered Eintracht Frankfurt manager Markus Kresce a staggering salary of 10 million euros per season over four years and a transfer budget of 700 million euros in a bid to transform the Rossoneri, but even that was not enough to lure the German to the San Siro.

Milan recently learned that Kroche will not be joining the club as ‘head of football’. The Eintracht Frankfurt manager was rumored to be in a move to take over the club’s sporting department, but it appears he intends to remain in his Bundesliga role.

This is despite the fact that Milan were prepared to offer Crochet an annual salary of 40 million euros (equivalent to 10 million euros net per season) over four years, according to a report in German media outlet BILD.

A season salary of 10 million euros would have been significantly higher than the current players in the Rossoneri team. Players like Rafael Leao and Mike Maignan are thought to earn around €7m net per season.

Bild also claims that Milan were prepared to give Crochet a budget of 700 million euros over four years to completely transform the playing staff, coaching staff and the club’s overall sporting side.

Reports on Thursday pointed out that Krochet’s contract with Eintracht Frankfurt had a release clause, believed to be worth 7 million euros, but that it would have been valid only during the winter, not the summer.

That meant Milan had to negotiate with Frankfurt, who reportedly set the asking price at €10 million to release Krochet from his current contract.

In the end, the German executive decided to stay in his current position, but BILD claims his decision was partly due to the fact that he “didn’t want to let down” the club that had treated him well so close to the start of the transfer window, and that he didn’t want to let down the 600 staff working under him at Deutsche Bank Park.

Bild also claims that Crochet was “frustrated” by reports in the Italian press about negotiations with ACLAN, with no deal in place. The German newspaper claims that the respected and world-famous club’s handling of the situation was “amateurish”.
