Adrian Rabiot joins AC Milan from Olympic Marseille
Adrian Rabiot acknowledges that reuniting with Massimiliano Allegri in Milan played a key role in his transfer decision this summer, but he insists that it’s “good” for Jonathan Low to see him again, saying “nothing special happened.”
The new Milan summer signature, Rabiot, was announced at a press conference on Friday.
The French midfielder completed a permanent 10 million euro move from Marseille on the deadline.
Rabiot’s press conference was presented as a Milanist

“I’m ready. I’m here. If the coach puts me on the pitch, I’ll do everything I can to help the team win,” he said.
Rabiot trained with Milan for the first time on Thursday and was reunited with former Juventus coach Alegri.
“We shared a lot. I quickly felt comfortable with him at Juventus. He has the right mentality to win,” Rabiot said on Milannews.
“He lives for football like me. We have a great connection. Even after he left Juventus, we kept talking and we even met. He’s a great person in addition to being a coach.
“I had a good feeling. It’s a group that I want to win and I have young players that I want to learn,” Rabiot continued.
“We have experienced coaches. I quickly felt comfortable with the training. The environment was positive and I found a great deal of openness from everyone. They were all kind to my family.”
Apparently, Rabiott had no plans to leave Marseille after a season with the club, but a brawl with Lowe in the dressing room of the French club in August changed his fate.
“It all happened on the last day of the transfer period. When he arrived in Milan, I spoke to Allegri and I was still signed with Marseille,” Rabiot said.
“Then the coach called me again about what had happened in Marseille. He explained the project to me. In the end, everything went straight away.
Rabiot was also reunited with other familiar faces, including Mike Maignan.
Rabiot spoke to the French player and Allegri before Milan moved.

“Mainyan talked a lot about Milan. Theo also said he felt good because he was a large family. Allegri already works here and is very attached to the club.
“I’m not saying they convinced me because I’m talking about a big club anyway, but it’s important to get feedback from people who are here or were here. I’m sure I made the right choice.”
Rabiot suggested that not playing in European competition would not be a problem.
“Playing for Milan is more important than playing for a team that can’t win or aim to go far,” he added.
“I wanted to come here on my coaching project and have a strong team that could compete for Champions League qualifying. I could have joined other Champions League clubs, but Allegri’s project convinced me to come here.”
Milan host Bologna in San Siro on Sunday. Does Rabiot oppose Rossoblu?
“He still said nothing to me. Obviously, I hope so, but that’s the coach’s decision,” the midfielder replied with a smile.
In the match against Bologna, Rabiot and Lowe are facing each other for the first time since they left Marseille.
“There’s nothing special about him,” explained Rabiot.
“After he went to Bologna and came to Milan, we texted each other. We’ll see each other on Sunday in San Siro. We’re happy to see him. He’s a good guy. What happened in Marseille can happen anywhere, but it didn’t change our relationship.
“We moved past that episode, and we talked about other things. We’re happy to see him again on Sunday. No regrets. These things can change very quickly. I think we’ve left some good memories for Marseille.”
