Ivan Juric has admitted he was frustrated by Atalanta’s 0-0 draw with Slavia Prague in the Champions League. “In the last two games, we had 15 clear scoring opportunities and couldn’t score.”
La Dea showed the very same problems that have plagued them all season in this evening’s very disappointing 0-0 draw with Slavia Prague.
They had 21 goal attempts and 52 attacks, but were unable to find the back of the net, wasting golden chances with several different strikers.
Ademola Lookman, Nikola Krstović, Gianluca Scamacca and Kamaluddin Slemana all missed big chances, resulting in the Champions League’s first stalemate, an all-too-familiar result in Serie A.
Juric awaits Atalanta’s breakthrough

“In the last two games, I think we had 15 clear scoring chances in all aspects: headers, counter-attacks, shots,” Djuric told Sky Sports Italia.
“On the one hand, I’m happy to have created so many chances because it means I’m doing the right thing to be in these positions, but on the other hand, it’s clear that something is not working in the final third.
“It’s just such a period. We are struggling to score goals. We have to think positively because if we create so many chances, sooner or later we will have a breakthrough. I’m mainly disappointed for the players, for the fans and for the club, because we’re doing a lot at a high level and it just doesn’t make sense. That’s what makes you sad.”
There was some good news in Scamacca’s return from another long-term injury, but his free header from six yards went over the bar.

Are Atalanta missing the determination and movement of a player like Mateo Letegui, who ended up being Serie A’s capocannoniere last season?
“I think Scamacca is a great talent, but he hasn’t played much over the past year, so it will take some time for him to reach 100 percent,” Juric pointed out.
“It’s a shame that Krstovic didn’t score because he’s doing something very positive. There’s no point in thinking about the past. We have to focus on the players we have now. They’re all talented enough to score goals.”
With four points from three Champions League matches, Atalanta are in 17th place and the top spot for the play-offs in the knockout phase.
