Official: After a year of spells with Besiktas, Bologna Sign Ciro Immobile.
Ciro Immobile didn’t feel the same “pressure” at Besiktas and did not dream of capocannoniere’s record in Bologna, but while playing for Italy, it’s his objective. New coach Gennaro Gattuso is not calling me.
The 35-year-old left Lazio last summer for a new experience at the Turkish super rig, where he scored 19 goals and offered four assists in Besiktas’ 41 competitive games.
However, his enthusiasm dries quite quickly, and he ended his contract with mutual consent and joined Bologna as a free agent.
“I still felt the need to be stimulated and pressured when I was preparing for the game,” Immobile said at today’s presentation press conference.
“I lost that motivation in Besiktas and wanted to finish my career to the best, so when the opportunity came up I was already certain. I didn’t have to be certain. I saw the enthusiasm of the city.
“I’m one of those players who need to feel he’s in the spotlight and feel pressured to do his best. I know Bologna doesn’t have as much pressure as many other places, but the enthusiasm was enough.”
Immobile wanted the Bologna Challenge after Besiktas

Bologna will play in the Europa League this semester as they participated in the Champions League last season and later won the Coppa Italia Trophy.
Unknown that Bologna had been used in the past to stimulate the careers of Italian international strikers, and had a marvel at Beppe Signoli and Roberto Baguio, Imobil hopes to follow in their footsteps.
“That’s true, Nagioneer is an objective, and playing in the World Cup means I had a positive campaign with Bologna.”
However, he has not yet spoken to Gatuso, a new Italian coach who took over from the looted Luciano Spalletti last month.
“No, he’s not calling me.”

The centre forward won the Capocan Noniere title four times in the Serie A and was also awarded the 2020 Golden Foot Award with 36 goals in the Lazio jersey.
“I scored 20 goals last season, so it wasn’t a disappointing campaign, but everyone needed a different motivation and after getting injured, we decided to move on.”
Given that he was seriously injured in December 2024, it means he was ready to quit Besikutas just a few months after his time.
“What I need at this stage of my career was to bring something to help younger players improve. I am very strict with myself and I believe I can continue to improve even at my age.
“I also accept that no one has won the Capocan Noniere title five times, so I will not deny that it is my purpose.”
