Didier Deschamps says Christopher Nekunck has “interesting possibilities” and can play a key role in the French team despite lacking playing time in Milan.
Nkunku is included in the French national team team for the World Cup qualifying match between Azerbaijan and Iceland, but the Deschamps decision was somewhat surprising given that Nkunku has only started one game since joining Milan in the summer transfer window.
Four more Serie A players are included in the team: Mike Maignan, Adrian Rabiot, Kefren Torrum and Manu Kone. Interforward Marcus Thurham was also part of the team, but was replaced by Jean Philippe Mateta after being injured in a Champions League match on Tuesday.
“The long-term absence reflects me and my staff. Mateta was called out for his profile and scoring ability.
The exam highlights that Sarlam faces a month on the sidelines due to a hamstring injury.
Thuram is a regular starter, and compatriot Nkunku has accumulated 90 minutes of football in three games in Milan.
Despite this, the former Chelsea striker has already scored a goal for Rossonelli.
Deschamps: nkunku has “interesting possibilities”
“Nkunku and Camavinga had little time to play, but I’m sure they’re likely,” explained Deschamps.
