To the average football fan, Domenico Berardi may be just another Serie A footballer, but to Sassuolo fans he is a loyal icon. Since making his Serie B debut for Sassuolo on 27 August 2012, Berardi has given his all to the Serie A club.
He has spent most of his career playing football and is one of the few players with one club. After 15 years at Sassuolo, he played a total of 400 games and scored 148 goals. For Sassuolo fans, Berardi is the heart of the club.
Across the world of football, there are many match day traditions, one of which is sports betting. A few platforms allow fans to bet without verification. This means minimal identity verification and a faster registration system. These sites typically cover Major League Baseball, including Serie A, and a variety of sports.

They usually operate differently than traditional bookmakers, which require full KYC. Services like this are often used by fans who want an easy way to follow their team, similar to how Sassuolo supporters track Berardi’s performance every week.
Berardi remained loyal to Sassuolo even when Sassuolo was relegated in the 2023-2024 Serie A season. However, on 9 November, he reached a career milestone for the Italian club when he led his team to a 3–0 victory against Atalanta.
Before the game against Sassuolo, Atalanta had the strongest defense in Serie A. Before the match, both clubs were level on points, but Atalanta were seen as the favorites to win after losing just one of their last 10 league games, but that changed after their matches against Berardi and Sassuolo.

Against one of Serie A’s best defenses, Berardi scored two goals and provided one assist as his team defeated Atalanta 3-0. Berardi took the lead with a penalty in the first half and assisted on Pinamonti’s goal to make it 2-0. He stopped his team in the 66th minute and ended the match.
Interestingly, Berardi’s final goal of the night marked his 126th goal in Serie A, helping him reach a career milestone. This means that Berardi has scored one more Serie A goal than Gonzalo Higuain and one less than Andriy Shevenchenko. On the list of all-time Serie A goalscorers, only Ciro Immobile and Paulo Dybala are active Serie A players who have scored more goals than him.
In addition to his legendary goal status, Berardi has extended his contract with Sassuolo until 2029. Berardi will be 35 years old when this new contract expires, cementing his status as a club legend.

Despite his historic achievements and new contract, Berardi remained loyal to his childhood club. The winger said in his speech that Sassuolo is his home and he is proud to wear the Neroverdi shirt. He became a man and a footballer at the club and is still grateful to the club, the owners, management, team-mates and fans.
Berardi has made no secret that he wants to play in the Champions League and has been linked with Juventus and Inter, but remains loyal to Sassuolo, explaining that the club represents his passion, history and career. He also added that he is looking forward to achieving more with the club as there is still a lot to explore.
