Fiorentina put in the dominant display at night and managed to beat the Czech side Sigma 2-0 in Florence.
The UEFA Conference League tie was a one-sided event, with Laiola dominating most matches, but he couldn’t extend his first lead until very late.
Fiorentina pushed early, but did not manage their first chance until the 10th minute mark when Pablo Mari and Edin Zeko missed the header slightly.
Stefano Pioli’s side came close several times with increased pressure before Roberto Piccoli scored the club’s first goal after a good pass from NDOUR.
Piccoli arrived in the summer from Cagliari, just weeks after joining I Sardi on a permanent deal from Atalanta after lending a season in Sardinia.

It’s a well-shot goal by the forward, and Raiola hopes it’s the first of many for the iconic purple kit forward.
Fiorentina continued to put pressure on towards the end of the first half, and Piccoli was making another effort as Luca Ranieri hit the post from long range, but he was offside.
Sigma’s defense was difficult to maintain the defensive line all night, as Fiorentina consistently tried to misuse the ball behind.
Fiorentina pushes, but Sigma digs
The second half began at the end of the first, with Fiorentina pushing hard for the second goal.
Piccoly remains the main source of host threats, blocking another good effort.

However, Sigma was not passive throughout the match, so we tested David de Gere twice around the time of range.
Fiorentina pushed and pushed, but to no avail, they made Sigma a bit worried about his ability to hit them on the counter.
However, the Czech side was unable to gather genuine opportunities for all matching, and in the end Piccoli’s goal was enough to give Laiola all three points. On the final kick of the game, Cher ndour extended the lead to 2.
Fiorentina’s struggle could be typical with goalkeeper De Gea’s late yellow card to wasting time. Laiola was expected to be comfortable in the game, and ultimately he wasted time to win the line.
