Former Inter and Italian forward Antonio Cassano believe Inter “can’t afford” to play in a 3-3 draw in the first game of the Champions League semi-final against Barcelona on Wednesday night, claiming Hansi Frick’s side “out-class” Nerazuli in all respects.
Marcus Thurlam and Denzel Dumfries had been targeting Inter, but goals from Ramin Yamal, Ferran Torres and Jan Somer themselves remained in the goals of Jan Somer, forced by Rafina in what Cassano described as the most beautiful game in the entire Champions League.
Cassano thinks Inter “can’t afford” in the way he plays Barca on Wednesday night, despite scoring three goals against one of the world’s most powerful teams.

He believes that the Catalans are superior in terms of quality, ideas and pace throughout the game, while also calling for Alessandro Bastoni and Nicolo Barrera for their evening performances.
“What a game: great, great. Given the importance of the game, it was the most beautiful thing in the entire Champions League. A real, intense, high-level challenge.” fcinternews.it.
Cassano calls Bastoni and Barrera for Barcelona 3-3 Inter Performance

Cassano went on to explain why he was adamant at Barcelona’s performance and why he was disappointed with what he saw from Simone Inzaghi’s side.
“When you say you’re unique, and you’ll never see it again, that’s because they won’t let the opponent see the ball. They’re incredible control of the game with their dribbling. Inter had to resume three times in the match.
“A strong team like Inter can’t afford to play like this. It was a serious match, but it was very defensive. They are the strongest team in Italy, but they can’t introduce themselves by playing that way in Europe.
“I was disappointed with the quality. The mid-inter was strong, but they were covered in Barcelona in terms of ideas, quality and pace.
“Some of the praise should be re-evaluated. Bastoni and Barrera are excellent players, but I saw their limits yesterday.”
