Inter Milan coach Jose Mourinho will lift the trophy in front of his team after winning the UEFA Champions League final between Bayern Munich and Inter Milan at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in Madrid, Spain on May 22, 2010.
Former Inter President Massimo Moratti turns 80 today, and Jose Mourinho has sent a message to social media sharing a photo of the iconic Nerazzuri: “My President!”
Moratti was one of the most legendary Presidents of Inter, and during his tenure, Nerazzuri won high pitches under Jose Mourinho in 2010.
Something special is among those who send birthday wishes to Moratti today, and he did so through his Instagram account: “My President! Many wishes for Happy Birthday,” writes Mourinho.
The Portuguese tactician posted a photo alongside Moratti as he celebrated Inter’s Champions League victory in 2010.
Mourinho spent two years at Stadio Meassa, winning the Serie A title, one Super Coppa, one Coppa Italia and one Champions League.
Mou left the inter for Real Madrid in 2010 shortly after winning the Champions League for Nerazzurri.
A few years later, he explained his decision and reiterated that he had a great relationship with Moratti.
“I’ve always been very honest with others and myself. I could have gone to Real Madrid after my first season with Inter, but I signed to stay for over a year.
“I went to Moratti’s house at the end of my first season and came to the conclusion that I would stay for another year. I already knew what I was trying to do, as it wasn’t a victory or defeat in the Champions League final that would have determined my life.
“It was my second chance, and I wanted to go. It was a moment of my career where I said I needed it. They were the biggest club in the world and although they had no history, they’ve won the Serie A title.
“The smart players already knew what I was trying to decide. I didn’t go back to Milan because I was worried that my emotions would change after the Champions League final.
