Piero Ausilio confirms Inter Milan is “interested” in Ademola Lookman, and says Hakan Calhanoglu “never asked to be sold.”

Nerazzurri Sporting Director spoke to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia via Fcinternews. He gave his thoughts on many topics related to Nerazzuri’s transfer period.

Inter Milan has been strongly associated with Atalanta Forward Ademora Lookman over the past few days.

The 27-year-old Nigeria International reportedly is the main targat in Nerazzuri’s attack.

The big question is whether Inter can convince Atalanta about fees. The report suggests they provided 40 million euros, but this is not enough for La Dea.

So the talk between Inter and Atalanta for Lookman certainly could get hot soon.

Ausilio said, “I’m interested in Ademola Lookman.”

Intersports Director Piero Ausilio thought about the situation with Lookman. “We have a great relationship with Atalanta,” he said. “Based on respect and friendship.”

“We spoke and told them what we were expecting.”

“We’re a huge fan of Lookman,” Asilio said. “That’s no secret.”

“We want to try and sign him, but he’s an Atalanta player, and we have to work to try and reach an agreement.”

The Intersports Director then warned that “we are not going to negotiate endlessly.”

“The key is what Atalanta wants to do.”

And whenever possible, Lookman’s alternative targets are Ausilio, “You can’t tackle a bunch of different aspects.

“If we can’t sign a Lookman, we’ll try our best to sign another player,” he added.

Ausilio then admitted the busy weeks of the first few weeks of the transfer window, “I don’t know if it’s a wise move for us to do so many signatures.”

“Inter has already signed a few. Zarewski deserves this opportunity. Pio Esposito is a good player and will do well.”

“Everyone is staying,” continued the Intersports Director. “We know how to improve our team.”

Intersports Director claims that “Hakankarhanogul never asked to sell.”

Meanwhile, Ausilio claimed with Hakan Karhanoglu that “it was never a problem.”

“He has never been asked to leave the Inter,” the sports director revealed.

“We were in the United States every day with Marotta.”

Of the rumours linking Karhanoguru to Galatasaray, Ausilio said, “Reading this kind of news is part of the transfer window.”

“But Inter is not going to let go of such a top player.”

Ausilio then also downplayed the link between Inter and teenage defender Giovanni Leoni.

“Leoni is a young player with great potential,” said Nerazuli’s sports director.

“He’s a talented player. He’s already showing excellent quality. The players know.”

Ausilio then stated, “Parma is the one who stands to make the most profit.”

He expected Gialoble to “plan to keep Leoni.”

“We’re working to improve in other areas. We have seven versatile players to play in defense. That’s not our priority.”

Meanwhile, regarding Inter’s priorities next season, Ausilio said, “clubs like Inter can’t choose which competition to focus on.”

“We have an obligation to do our best in every competition. Consistency and a desire to always do great things is important.”

“We’re trying to build a competitive team,” the Intersports Director said. ”

“Because Inter plays every three days each week.”
