President Beppe Marotta argued that Christian Cibb was not the “second choice” behind Cesc Fabregas, and the club decided not to sell very strong players this summer.
It starts with San Siro at 19.45 UK Time (18.45 GMT).

“We’ll start as well as every year that respects the history and colour of this club,” Marotta told Sky Sports Italia.
“We also have very strong opponents who challenge the same targets. Napoli won the Scudetto last season, so they have to start their next campaign and be considered their favorite.
Intel had to change its strategy after Inzagi

Nerazzurri didn’t keep the fact that he wanted to keep Simone Inzaghi on the bench even after finishing empty-handed last season, but he left to take over Al-Hilal.
The search for the exchange went through Fabregas, but eventually settled on former Palma boss Chibu, but Marotta had this framing wrong.
“The club has a project and Chivu fits into it very well,” the president told Sky Sport Italia.
“I heard all this story about Fabregas being the first option, but that wasn’t a situation. He was one of the names on the list, but Chive certainly wasn’t the second option or the person we settled on.
“Chib has a long history with Inter as a player and then as a coach at a successful Youth Academy for many years. He fits perfectly with the profile of what we were looking for.”

It was a tough transfer session for Inter and Marotta couldn’t deny that some transactions didn’t go as they wanted, but he tried to see the positive side again.
The past few months have been ruled alongside Hakan Karhanogul’s Give Give and Galatasarei, and have not convinced Atalanta to sell Ademalake Man.
“We decided not to sell very strong players and tried to find some opportunities in the market, but we can’t go overboard,” continued Marotta.
“Lookman was a chance, but Atalanta decided not to put him on the market as fully as their rights. We then tried to add a younger player to this team. We’re planning a team that fits our plans.
“We lowered the average age of our team and brought in new talented players.”
