Fiorentina have announced the appointment of Fabio Grosso as their new manager.

Fiorentina have announced the appointment of Fabio Grosso as their new head coach. The former Italy international has signed a contract until June 2028.

Former Italian defender Grosso will become Fiorentina’s new manager, the Tuscany announced in a statement on Monday.

“ACF Fiorentina is pleased to announce that Fabio Grosso has been appointed as the new head coach of the first team,” Fiorentina said.

“Born in Rome on November 28, 1977, Grosso began his coaching career in Juventus’ youth sector in 2013.

He made his first-team managerial debut in 2017, taking on the role of Bari manager in Serie B. Throughout his career, Viola also coached at Olympique Lyon, Frosinone and Sassuolo. He has been promoted twice from Serie B to Serie A, and in his most recent season in charge of the Neroverdi, the newly promoted team finished 11th.

“Everyone at Fiorentina is delighted to enthusiastically welcome a world champion and a coach who brings ability, innovative ideas and enthusiasm. Welcome, Mr. Fabio Grosso!”

Fiorentina added that Grosso has signed a contract until June 30, 2028.

“We are very happy to welcome Fabio Grosso to Fiorentina,” said Fiorentina Sporting Director Fabio Paratici, who had already worked with Mr. Grosso at Juventus, said President Giuseppe B. Commisso, adding that Mr. Fabio is not only a world champion, but also a coach who has forged his own path through hard work, ideas and results, and who has shown the ability to lead his team and face important challenges.

We believe that Fabio has the personality, manner and enthusiasm to build a stronger and more competitive Fiorentina and that will always be linked to the Fiorentina identity. Fiorentina replaced Stefano Pioli with Paolo Vanoli in November 2025, ensuring their survival with two games remaining in the 2025-26 season.

Paratici was appointed as Fiorentina’s new sporting director in February 2026.

Grosso secured promotion to Serie A with Sassuolo in 2024-25 and led the Neroverdi to 11th place in Italy’s top flight in 2025-26.
