Igor Tudor’s reign, when Juventus head coach won a 1-0 victory over Genoa in Serie A on Saturday evening, has seen most outlets in the Italian press feel that by the end of 2024-25, there is still much work that Croats need to do.
Kenan Ildis scored three Tudor points in the 25th minute in his debut as head coach for Juventus, replacing Thiago Motta with a tentative contract until the end of last week’s 2024-25 campaign.

There were some notable differences in the way Juventus set on Saturday, and the difference in the approach between Motta and Tudor, from his switch to a 3-4-2-1 shape, and his way on the touchline.
The morning after his debut, Tudor won many praise from the Italian media, but most outlets suggest that a tough test has yet to come for the new coach, and defeating Genoa was an important first step, but the performance was not a completed article.
What the Italian press said about Tudor’s Juventus debut

La Gazzetta delo Sport has switched from Thiago Motta’s preference 4-2-3-1 to 3-4-2-1, with Tudor praised the change in shape.
Gazzetta also praised Tudor for his risk-taking of possession, his ability to commit with numbers that he appears to be less vulnerable to counter attacks.
However, Saturday’s report suggests that Randall Koro Muani is “better” in advance, in contrast to Dusan Vlahovich, who was motivated but not enraged when Juventus returned to Bianconeri, which starts XI.

Corriere Dello Sport’s Ivan Zazzaroni writes that the prominent positive spirit was one of the highlights of Juventus’ performance, handing praise to return scorer Yildiz.
However, the same report suggests that “progress” under Tudor is not yet entirely obvious, claiming that Juventus’ line of defence is weak, particularly after Federico Gatti withdrew on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Tuttosport argued that Tudor’s approach is the exact opposite of Motta’s approach, with the former focusing on ownership, and that his alternatives are entirely focused on ensuring the results perfectly.
