Juventus manager Giorgio Chiellini said the club “doesn’t want anything” other than Igor Tudor to continue playing, insisting there is no “crisis” within the old man.

The match against Real Madrid will kick off at 20:00 UK time (19:00 GMT) at the Estadio Bernabéu.

Chiellini told Sky Sports Italia: “We at Juventus have very positive memories and also very negative memories of Real Madrid, but they are different from era to era and it is difficult to compare them.”

After a month without a win between Serie A and the Champions League, the tension in the Bianconeri camp is palpable, with reports suggesting Tudor is on the verge of being fired.

“A lot has been said and written this week, but it is not true. Igor is the manager of Juventus and we want nothing more than for him to continue. People have written that there seems to be a bad relationship, but as with all families there are discussions and sometimes you agree and sometimes you don’t. But you continue to walk together,” Chiellini insisted.

Juventus back Tudor despite criticism

Tudor reportedly surprised Juventus with a rant against the calendar they have been working on so far this season.

Coach Chiellini added: “It was a tough list of matches, so we could have gotten a few more points, but we are analyzing this moment calmly.”

“Tonight we have a big game outside of Serie A, and after that we have games against Lazio, Udinese and Cremonese, so we want to recover some of the points we lost in a different atmosphere.

“Obviously we expected to get a few more points, but we are far from calling this a crisis.”

Juventus leaders were also asked whether the club put pressure on Tudor to continue playing in the Teun Coop minors after making a huge investment in him last season and signing rebel Dusan Vlahovic.

“The manager is free to choose. We have never discussed extracting value from players under contract. Tudor supports us and has never forced us to choose. He has chosen a team and tonight it is the right team. Hopefully, attitude is more important than the starting lineup. This is a team that has to have confidence and some belief. Unfortunately, in the last few games we have lost some of the confidence and solidity that Igor built over the summer, but once that comes back.” Then the results will come as a result. ”
