Roman midfielder Lorenzo Peregrini admits that “I got back from the start and scored to win the Derby,” as he appears to be on the verge of leaving this summer, making it “unpredictable.”
Pellegrini scored his fourth goal in the Rome Derby on Sunday, contributing to a 1-0 victory over Gialolosi city rival Lazio.
Pellegrini commented on the victory Rome goal vs. Lazio

“There are a lot of things. I was moved after the finish line. Not everyone knows, but it hurts so how much did the people close to me care about going back here,” Pellegrini told Dazen.
“To manage it today, to start the game and win the derby for my people, it’s for my family. You’re all my family and have helped me during this difficult time.
“I know there are people in the stands who love me and I have never doubted that. I love them too. This team is proud to be one of many captains because there are so many great men here with characters who care about Rome.
“That includes Mancini, the brother of another mother.”
The Italian defender joined Pellegrini for an interview with Dazn after the match.
Pellegrini has linked to leaving Studio Olimpico during the summer transfer period, and his future with the club remains uncertain given his contract was lost in June 2026.
“Aside from all reasoning and words, there is one constant: I love Rome,” Pellegrini said.
“As long as I wear this jersey, there will be no moments I will hold back. Life is unpredictable. You don’t know what will happen next.
“What I’m hoping now is to score under curva sud and run there to celebrate with the fans, but honestly, anywhere, under sud, nord, if they put the net there, even on the side!”
