Portugal International made many offers during the January transfer period and turned its mind to move to San Siro, even if it’s only a six-month loan without the option to make it permanent.
“Even before the suggestions arrived, I watched Milan games and thought it was great to play with that shirt,” Joan Felix told La Gazzetta Delo Sports.
“When the offer came, I told the agent to do everything possible to get through the transaction.”
He played for Benfica, Atletico Madrid, Barcelona and Chelsea, but the 25-year-old claims there is something very special about representing the Italian giants.
“Barcelona, Real Madrid and a few others, Milan are in the elite of the most important clubs in the world. Wearing this jersey is different from wearing someone else. It’s hard to say no when Milan asks you.”
Joao Felix wanted to follow in Kaka’s footsteps
Part of the appeal comes from when he saw Ricky Kaka play for Rossoneri and win the Scudetto and the Champions League.
“Everyone knows that Kaka is my idol. I’ve seen a lot of his videos to learn his secrets, but if I can do one thing from him, it’s his elegance. I could meet him personally too.

Joao Felix made an immediate impact at San Siro with his lackluster goal, beating Roma 3-1 in the Coppa Italia quarterfinals, but he has been struggling to get playing time ever since then.
“I was so happy to debut in goal at Sansilo, I am trying to do good for the team, and whatever the coach needs, whether they need to play in defense, midfield or offensive, I am trying my best here.
“The important thing is we’re removing two consecutive wins, including the Derby. We want to fight to the end to beat Coppa Italia, so this season can be the best.”
Winning Coppa Italia in the final at Rome’s Studio Olimpico on May 14th is also Milan’s best chance to compete in the Europa League as he sits in ninth place in Serie A.
“Milan has to play in Europe, so that’s what we need to do,” Joan Felix concluded.
