Inter Milan manager Cristian Chivu has decided to keep Markus Thuram on the bench for tonight’s Serie A match against Lazio at the San Siro, pairing young French striker Ange-Joan Bony with Lautaro Martinez.
This Serie A Round 11 match will kick off at 20:45 local time (19:45 GMT) in Milan.
Inter will be hoping to produce a more convincing performance after narrow wins against Hellas Verona and Kairat Almaty. The latter was in the Champions League.
Coach Chivu has called for a “different attitude” from his players since midweek, returning several key starters including Akanji, Bastoni, Calhanoglu and Sučić.

Firstly, the Croatian midfielder is rated higher than Piotr Zielinski.
Acerbi’s playing time at Inter is numbered, but the veteran will start against his former club
Meanwhile, Francesco Acerbi returned to the starting lineup, while Jan Bisek started on the bench.
Acerbi was expected to start ahead of the German, as Bisek replaced the veteran Italian in recent weeks.
However, Chivu believes in the experienced Italian to solidify his defence.

Acerbi’s contract is set to expire at the end of this season, and time appears to be running out for the former Lazio player.
Therefore, today may be a valuable opportunity for him to prove his abilities.
Mateo Darmian, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Tomas Palacios and Raffaele Di Gennaro remain sidelined due to injury.
Thuram was on the bench for Inter Milan vs. Lazio

Marcus Thuram will once again start on the bench at Inter, while Chivu has put his trust in youngster Ange-Joan Bony.
Pre-match reports suggested this could be Thuram’s first start for Inter since his injury against Slavia Prague.
Indeed, Thuram recovered well and returned to the team, but once again started on the bench.
