How Milan’s midfield changes from 2025 to 26

Technically, Ricci and Modric will compete for the starting spot next season as Rossoneri’s Regista, but Youssouf Fofana will be the box-to-box midfielder who will be performing a more defensive duty than the new signature Milan hopes to welcome in the coming days.
It is no secret that Milan’s main target to replace Reijnders is Club Bruges talent Ardon Jashari.
On paper, Milan’s starting midfield for next season will be formed by Rich (or Modric) and Fofana and Jashari, but it is still unclear whether Rossoneri will reach an agreement for the Swiss midfielder.

Rossonelli is also ready to listen to the USMNT International Yunus Musah offer.
Yacine Adli and Ismael Bennacer are also not part of Rossoneri’s plans, but Ruben Loftus-Cheek is considered a midfielder who can provide goalscoring opportunities in his third season at Sanshiro.
The former Chelsea midfielder struggled with injuries during his last term, but he scored six goals in 29 Serie A appearances in his debut campaign at San Silo and provided two assists.
“He is one of the most complete midfielders in Europe’s panorama,” Tale said at a press conference to be announced in June.
“He can be a key player in Milan next season. He needs to try to better manage the injury situation, but the value of the player is beyond debate.
“He also wants to play in the middle of the three who can convert during the game, so he can replace it with some new additions with different traits to Reijnders.”
