Lecce and Sassuolo both ended up in a disappointing stalemate with a clear lack of quality, squandering great scoring chances.
Both teams had a dismal start to the season but enter the international break with morale-boosting wins. The hosts saw Riccardo Sottil on the treatment table alongside Filip Marchwinski, Matias Perez and Gaby Jean. The Neroverdi had captain Domenico Berardi back but were without Daniel Boroka, Tarek Muharemovic, Efelson Paz and Edoardo Pieragnolo.
See how it all unfolded in our live blog.

Irvel Ramadani fired wide from the edge of the area, but Filippo Romagna’s volley was parried away by Chiaronda Gaspar.
Nikola Sturic came close to scoring with a left-footed curler from curling inches wide of the far post, and Berisha’s half-volley was charged by Romagna.
After the restart, Armando Lauriente cleared down the left flank to provide an assist for Andrea Pinamonti, but Berardi first saved Vladimiro Falcone’s legs at his near post and smashed the rebound into the front of the goal.
Thiago Gabriel decisively blocked Thorstvedt’s diagonal drive in stoppage time, but defended even more bravely when Pierini’s volley threw him in the face, leaving him visibly shaken.
Lecce 0-0 Sassuolo
