Six players have been recalled to the Italian national team. There will also be the first call from Gellas Verona defender Diego Coppola in Luciano Spalletti’s selection for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in June.
Spalletti won Norway in Oslo on June 6th and Moldova in his hometown soil on June 9th, picking it to be Italy’s first two matches in the World Cup qualifying campaign.
Among the players returning to the Italian team that was left behind in March is 37-year-old centre-back Francescoervi.

His teammate Federico DiMarco, who was injured in March and missed the Nations League quarterfinals, will also be back and play.
So is Matteo Gabia from Milan Return to the team for the first time since October, and 32-year-old Atalanta’s wing back David Zappacosta, also made a comeback.
Juventus captain Manuel Rocatelli is also included in the second Italian team of the season. He was joined by Bologna forward Ricardo Orsolini, who will return to the team at the expense of Lazio’s Mattia Zaccagni.

There is also the first call of the 21-year-old Verona defender Coppola, who has been linked to travel to both Juventus and Milan at various stages of the 2024-25 season.
