"there were no difficult feelings" at intermilan's exit.

Striker Edin Zeko says there are “no harsh feelings” about his departure from Inter Milan in 2023.

The Bosnian spoke to Gazzetta delo Sports via FCINTERNEWS in an interview with SportWeek Insert this weekend. However, he admitted that he sometimes wondered how things would disappear if he were staying.

Edin Zeko spent two seasons as an intermittent player.

Nerazzurri signed the former Manchester City and Wolfsburg striker in the summer of 2021.

And Zeko certainly had an impact with Inter. He spent two seasons as his first choice striker, winning four silver items and even began the Champions League final.

However, Zeko was unable to win the Serie A title in one of two seasons with Inter.

Bosnia International then left Nerazzuri on a free relocation after not agreeing to an extension of the contract. He joined the Istanbul Giants Fenerbafe.

And now, two seasons in Türkiye, Zeko has returned to Serie A. He joined Fiorentina this summer.

When asked if he was thinking about what would happen if he stayed at Inter in 2023, Zeko admitted, “it’s been beyond my heart many times.”

“But I don’t have any harsh feelings about it,” the 39-year-old continued.

“I had two great years in Milan. I know the atmosphere of the club and the many people who still play there.”

“The club and coaches made certain decisions and led them to win Scudetto and reach another Champions League,” Zeko said.

“Of course, with me, things could probably get even better…” Zeko implied.

And with Inter not winning the Serie A title in his first season with the club, the Bosnian looked back and said, “We were the strongest team in the league that season.”

“But we didn’t manage our energy well,” he admitted. “We provided everything about the Champions League without reaching the final.”

“But in the league we underestimated our rivals (AC Milan). They were able to capitalize.”

“Congratulations to Milan for winning it,” Zeko said. “But Inter wasted too many opportunities that year.”

“If we had to choose a match that leaves a bitter taste in our mouths, it would be Bologna (the loss of threw away the title in 2022) or City (the 2023 Champions League final),” he added.

Of that final against Manchester City, Zeko commented, “When you reach the final, you’re a step away from your goal.”

“Yes. You definitely believe it.”

“Inter was facing an invincible city,” recalls the Bosnian. “The team on paper was invincible.”

“But in the end, they failed to take control of us during the match.”

“While I was on the pitch, I felt my goal was out of our reach,” Zeko said. “It took us a little while to like us and we were able to take the trophy home.”

“But the pride of giving it 100% remains,” he insisted.
