Romell Lukaku assures that Antonio Conte “never believed” he would leave Naples. “He can be tough, but he’s kind. I’m so happy to finally be able to play with Kevin De Bruin every day.”
The centre forward sat down with Dazn Italia to discuss the new campaign. In the new campaign, Partenopei went from losing to Italian registered champion.

The main reason he moved to Studio Diego Armando Maradona last year was to work with Conte again after going through together at Chelsea and Inter.
“Conte tried to motivate me to do my best,” Lukaku said.
“He may be tough, but he is calm and it depends on the moment and it has always been his greatest strength. We work here and the aim is to win. I’m going to give this team everything.
Lukaku never doubted Conte’s intentions.

There were some major questions when Conte lifted the trophy of the leaving Serie, as Napoli did with Inter before.
However, the crisis spoke to President Aurelio de Laurentiz, persuading the coach to remain on his promise to invest heavily in the transfer market.
“I wasn’t afraid of him leaving. In fact, he stayed,” Lukaku was convinced.
“We have to start from scratch and prove that we’ve grown. We’re on track in the preseason, but a lot of teams are fighting for Scudetto to the end. We’re hoping for a great fight.”

The biggest new signature will be Debruin, even if he arrives as a free agent from Manchester City, a match made in the heavens of Belgian International.
“My relationship with him is not based on football, but on human levels. We’ve known each other since childhood. We were only 13 years old, debuted in the same year, and our careers ran in parallel,” explained Lukaku.
“Now I’m so happy to be able to play with De Bruyne. When we were younger, it was only really happening under Jose Mourinho in Chelsea. We lived in the same apartment.”
It is no secret that the striker helped de Bruin to convince him to choose Naples as his next destination.
“We said there’s a great team of real men and exceptional fans. He saw it himself. He now understands Italian a bit. He’s very intelligent. Plus, in Belgium he’s already started speaking three or four languages in school. He’s really happy.
