Once the summer transfer window enters the final month, Serie A’s top five clubs will need to complete their teams. So there are things to look forward to in Naples, Inter, Juventus, Rome and Milan in the next few days.
All Serie A directors work non-stop to strengthen their teams for the 2025-26 campaign, with what Italy’s top five clubs need in just a month before the end of negotiations on September 1st.
Naples
Defending champion Napoli was undoubtedly the busiest team this summer. They were already welcoming six new players: Kevin de Bruin, Sam Bekema, Noah Lang, Lorenzo Lucca, Vanja Mirinkovic Savic and Lucka Marianucci. It’s no secret that Antonio Conte is aiming to complete his team with another winger this summer. Dan Nudoy headed towards Nottingham Forest, and the defending champions set their sights on Federico Chiesa, Jack Grelish and Raheem Sterling.
Inter
The 2024-25 runner-ups have signed Bonnies of Petal Soucic, Lewis Henrique and Ange Yoan, but they still need to sign centre-backs, central midfielders and strikers. Their priorities are certainly Adamal Lookman, but their latest offer to Atalanta was still inadequate. As for defense and midfield, Nerazzurri may need to sell some players before discussing potential new purchases. Although Chrisjan Aslani is not part of Christian Chib’s plan, the Albanian midfielder wants to stay in Serie A and has organized a permanent 15 million euro transfer into the real Betis. According to Italian reports, Nerazzuri is ready to hear the offers for defenders Jan Bisek and Benjamin Pavad.
Juventus
On paper, the Bianconeri team is full of two players in each position, but this does not mean that the old lady will end the transfer campaign with the sole acquisition of Jonathan David and João Mario. As already pointed out in June, manager Igor Tudor still needs a centre-back, a central midfielder, an offensive midfielder, a right-wing back and a centre-forward. Again, Bianconeri will need to offload some players before focusing on summer reinforcements. The Serie A Giants are ready to sell Timothy Wee, Dusan Vlahovich, Lloyd Kelly, Douglas Lewis and more, but are still waiting for a proper offer.
Rome
New coach Jean Piero Gasperini has repeatedly urged the club to introduce more reinforcements. His Rome suggests that after welcoming Neil El Einou, Wesley, Evan Ferguson and Davis Vazquez, he still needs four or five new faces. Corriere Dello Sport reported earlier this week that Giallorossi is still looking for a centre-back to Marash Kumbulla and Mario Hermoso, a right-footed offensive midfielder, a middle midfielder and a left-wing back. As for the role of centre-back, Verona’s Daniele Guirardi is on the verge of moving to Studio Olimpico.
Milan
Rossonelli already welcomes Luka Modric, Samuel Rich and Purvis Estupignan, but unless no one leaves after Tijani Reyjun and Theo Hernandez yet, they will need a centre forward, a middle midfielder and right back. Reinforcements in the middle midfield and the right flank of the attack may arrive regardless of departure, but as Tare said in June, further reinforcements in the wings and central defense will only be made if some players in the same position leave. The central midfielder’s priority is Ardon Jashali, who wants to “make every sacrifice” to San Silo, according to club Paolo Scaroni. Meanwhile, Juventus’ Vlahovic is the hot name in their agenda. Gazzetta says it also includes things like Gonzalo Ramos and Victor Bonifers.
