USMNT star Christian Pulisic has announced that his club Milan areThe Rossoneri are still looking for a new coach and manager, but have refused to compare Mauricio Pochettino to Max Allegri, saying: “I know what he wants from me.”
Pulisic is preparing for the USMNT’s 2026 World Cup debut against Paraguay on Saturday.
The American star did not score at club level in 2026 and was part of the Milan squad that finished the 2025-26 season outside of the Champions League qualification spots.
The Rossoneri sacked manager Massimiliano Allegri and all other high-profile managers the day after the season ended, and are still looking for a replacement.
“I can only say that Milan are a big club. I think they will solve everything,” Pulisic told Gazzetta.
“I’m confident that everything will work out in the end and the team will get back to where it belongs, but right now we’re focused here in America.”

Pulisic remains in touch with many of his teammates, including those playing in the World Cup.
“I’ve been in touch with some players,” he said.
“We spoke and they also just wished me luck in the World Cup. In general, I have a lot of close friends in Italy and we talk every day.
“There are a lot of Rossoneri here (at the World Cup).
“I’m not thinking about the possibility of a match, but I wish everyone the best. For example, I spoke to Santi (Jiménez), who played for Mexico for the first time. He was the one who broke the emotional wall.”
USMNT manager Pochettino is said to be linked with Milan’s appointment, and Gazzetta reports that the Rossoneri have already reached a basic agreement with the Argentine.
“I only see him here now as my national team coach. Our relationship is good, definitely good,” Pulisic insisted.
“We’ve had good conversations over the last few days. I know what he wants from me and what I can give him. I think we, together with him, are preparing the best for the tournament.”
What is the difference between Pochettino and previous Milan managers, especially Paulo Fonseca and Allegri?
“I don’t make comparisons, but I think he’s the first South American manager in my career,” Pulisic replied.
“It was a great experience and a big discovery. I like his passion and I like the idea of football that he brings with his style. He demands a lot of energy and constant intensity on the pitch.”
Pulisic and Juventus midfielder McKennie are among the stars of the USMNT.

“We have really grown together and now we are both at the top of the Italian team. I am at Milan and he is at Juve. But the most important thing is that we are still defending the national team together,” Pulisic concluded.
“When you go into an important game like this, with the pressure of making your World Cup debut, it helps to look around and see players you’ve known since you were 13 or 14 years old. You want to play like them, you want to not let them down, you want to have their backs. With this spirit we arrive at our home World Cup.”
