Christian Chib admitted that he “thought he would be staying in Palma” this summer before receiving a call from Inter Milan.

The 44-year-old will replace Simone Inzagi after leaving for Al-Hilal.

“That was a surprise to me,” Chive admitted to receiving a call from Inter.

Chivu said by joining Inter as a coach, “Even if I was with the youth sector, I was already doing that.”

“I’ve been here for 13 years now,” Chive said. “Aside from the short break I had at Parma.”
In a wish he gained from other treble winners from the 2009-10 season, Chivu said, “We’re having a historic chat.”

“We’re a good group,” Chive said of the 2009-109 team. “We are friends for life because the outcomes lead to it.”

Chivu: “You need confidence” at the Club World Cup
By leading the inter-team to the Club World Cup this summer, Chiv said it was “a new version of an old project.”

Chivu added, “I hope he finds the same energy.”
