Beppe Marotta says Inter Milan will discuss Simone Inzagi’s new contract after this summer’s FIFA Club World Cup.
Nerazzurri’s president spoke to Italian broadcaster Dazn via Fcinternews ahead of today’s clash with Serie A Como.
Inter Milan coach Simone Inzagi is currently under contract with Nerazzurri until the end of June next year.
The 49-year-old former coach Lazio extended his contract with the club last summer.
Intel has created a policy of giving Inzagi a one-year extension every summer. So it seems quite possible that this will become a fact again this summer.
However, there have been some reports that Inter wanted to link the future of the coach in the longer term.
Especially after reports became clear that Al-Hilal wanted to seduce Inzagi to come to the Saudi pro league with a massive offer of money.
Marotta: “Inter & Inzagi will discuss a new contract after the FIFA Club World Cup.”
Inter Milan President Beppe Malotta addressed the future issues of Inzagi at the club.
“He’s still on a contract for a year,” President Nerazzuri said. “And there’s one thing that’s particularly important: we have a great symbiotic relationship with Inzagi.”
“He’s a great expert,” Marotta said of Inter’s coach.
He called Inzagi “the architect of this extraordinary cycle.”
“We have every desire to continue with him, and I can’t hear the bells ringing from other directions.”
“Now is not the time to talk about it,” Marotta warned.
“After the Champions League final and the Club World Cup, we will meet and discuss the offer of extension,” he added.
Marotta was then evasive in recent debates over Serie A’s umpire and Val. “I don’t want to get into it,” he said. “Especially tonight.”
“Silence is a form of communication,” continued President Inter. “Then it must be interpreted by some and explained by others. In this case, we.”
Marotta mentioned Inter’s media blackout after a draw with Serie a Radio last Sunday.
“But we thought it was appropriate that it wasn’t rude, but because of the tension that still remains.”
“It’s the right thing to do to manage these difficult moments.”
Marotta responds to Conte’s jibe

Meanwhile, Marotta responded to a recent comment by Napoli coach Antonio Conte, suggesting that the Serie A title is a more meaningful reflection of team quality than Serie A.
“The league is like a marathon competition,” President Inter said. “There are situations in the Champions League that often help you.”
“But this season, the league games have been normal. But we’ve played 15 games in other tournaments, so the struggle in that respect is normal.”
