Vincenzo Italiano was recently appointed head coach of Turkish Super Lig giants Besiktas, and reports in Italy suggest that Vincenzo Italiano could be looking to sign three players who are currently thought to be within Juventus’ requirements.

Gazzetta: 3 unwanted Juventus players could join Italiano at Besiktas

Italiano joined Besiktas on a two-year deal at the weekend, reportedly making him the third highest-paid Italian manager in the world with a deal worth €6 million a season. Currently, only Simone Inzaghi and Carlo Ancelotti earn more than the former Bologna tactician.

Besiktas are also willing to help Italiano in the transfer market, with La Gazzetta dello Sport reporting that Italiano has several Juventus players on his wishlist that he doesn’t want.

That includes, surprisingly, Arthur Melo, who has not played for Juventus since the end of the 2021-22 season. The 29-year-old former Barcelona midfielder still has one year left on his contract with Juve and the club would need to raise around 6.5 million euros to avoid capital losses if they were to sell him.

Arthur still has a contract worth €5 million per season left with Turin, but this is not expected to be a problem for Besiktas.

Arthur is a player Italiano knows well from his time at Fiorentina. Italiano took the Brazilian on loan to Tuscany for the 2023-24 season, helping the midfielder bounce back after a disastrous loan spell with Liverpool the year before.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Besiktas are also interested in signing Douglas Ruiz, from the Brazilian midfielder to other players.

Douglas Ruiz joined Juventus in a €50 million deal after a brilliant few years in the Premier League with Aston Villa, but failed to make much of an impact in his first season in Italy and has since returned to Villa for the 2025-26 season after two fruitless loan spells with Nottingham Forest.

La Gazzetta dello Sport claim that manager Luciano Spalletti could offer Douglas Ruiz a chance at Juventus during pre-season, while Besiktas is also reported to be approaching him for information regarding his possible signing.

Finally, La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Besiktas could also offer a new home to goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio, who is expected to be sold by Juventus, if a suitable offer is made.
