The winners of the 2024-25 Serie A MVP Award were announced following the end of the league title fight on Friday night.
Napoli crowned the Italian champions from 2024-25 after a 2-0 victory over Cagliari at Stadio Maradona on Friday night. Inter beat Como 2-0 and is away from home at the same time, but they ended the campaign with a one point from Partenopey.

McTominay, Reijnders and Retegui are among the winners of the Serie A MVP
Scottish International McTominai was announced as the Serie A MVP as a whole after leading Napoli to their second Scudetto in just three years in their first season from Manchester United.
He won 12 goals and six assists in Serie A this season, giving away a trophy on the pitch full-time after beating Cagliari 2-0 on Friday night.
“I got lost in words, that’s incredible,” he said in the vibe of a studio Maradona party.
“The sacrifices of all the players in this group are incredible. People deserve it because they’ve been behind us since day one. It’s just a dream for me to come here and experience this.”
Roma Goalkeeper Mile Svilar won the best goalkeeper award from 2024-25, beating Fiorentina and Torino’s Vanja Milinkovic-Savic’s David De Gea.
The best defender goes to the international Alessandro Bastoni in Italy. He saw a race between his fellow countrymen and title winner Alessandro Buongiorno and Lazio’s fullback Nuno Tavares.
Despite finishing outside of Serie A’s European position, Milan midfielder Tijani Rayjans has been named Serie a Best Midfielder despite being “advanced consultations” to join Manchester City this summer. He won awards for Mukutominai and Inter’s Nicolo Barrera.
To be clear, the entire Serie A MVP cannot win one of the other position-specific awards. So why McTominay didn’t win the best midfielder award and why 2023-24 MVP winner Lautaro Martinez didn’t win the Best Striker Award last season.
Another Italian International from Mateo Retegui has won the best striker award, having tallyed 25 goals and seven assists in the league this season. He beat Fiorentina’s Moise Keene and Bologna’s Ricardo Orsolini in the top three of all Italy.
Finally, Como talent NicoPas won the 2024-25 award for his best U23 player, beating Emporo’s Sebasciano Esposito and Juventus’s Kenan Ildis.
