Christian Vieri claims that Simone Inzagi has done “a phenomenal job” as Intercoach for four years on a minimal budget, so he is open to new boss Christian Chibb.
Former Italian, Inter, Juventus, Milan and Atletico Madrid striker Vieri sat on an Italian football podcast to discuss current trends and read the rest of his comments here.
Nerazzuri finished the season empty-handed, and the pain of the final defeat of the 5-0 Champions League to Paris Saint-Germain left Inzagi and began a new adventure as manager of Al Giral on the pro league side of Saudi Arabia.
“I think it’s because of a 5-0 result (Inzagi left Inter Milan). I didn’t think he would leave,” Bieri insisted.
“After losing 5-0, he told himself, “What do you know? I don’t have any more energy. After losing 5-0, it took all my energy.” I think losing 1-0, 2-0, or 2-1 is okay to lose at 5-0.
“He and the club spoke and said, ‘What should we do?’ And from what I heard, they spoke in a simple way. ”
Vieri supports Inter’s Inzaghi Record
The end of this adventure prompted me to reevaluate what Inzagi did in Inter.
However, Vieri is sure that Inzaghi will be remembered with affection by his fans and players.
“I think he’s done a great job over the past four years. He plays twice in the Champions League finals in three years on a budget that Inter spends. Inter is different from Real Madrid, PSG, Barcelona, Manchester City or Bayern.
“We need to see 5 million euros here or 2 million euros here. So I think they did an incredible job.”
There were doubts as to whether the coach would accept Al-Hilal’s proposal. This is reportedly worth 30 million euros per season, including add-ons and bonuses.
That was the decision after a 5-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.
“I think the outcome is very heavy for Simone. I think he ultimately said, ‘I’m going to leave, I don’t have the energy to start a season any more,” Vieri said.
“I think that’s why he left. I’m sorry he left. I don’t like changing coaches. In fact, I think if the club wants to win, then it takes time.
“But I think it will take years to win and make the players comfortable. So I’m sad that he left. I think he did a great job.”
He played for many clubs in his career, but Vieri still equates with Inter.
“We won the Scudetto. We may have won the second Scudetto this year. We deserve to win, but we missed something.
Now, former interplayer Chib is given a job that began with the American Club World Cup just months after he was in charge of Parma.
Vieri is somewhat unconvinced that the former defender, who was part of the 2010 treble team, can make a difference.
“A very young coach. I’ve never coached Serie A. This year I’ve only been with Parma for a few months. I think the team is still very strong. Let’s see what he can do. He’s young. He has an idea.
